LOEF President Laura Moese Hosts Hispanic Heritage Day at Rising Stars School

September 16, 2024 – Laura Moese, President of the LULAC Ohio Education Foundation (LOEF), organized a vibrant Hispanic Heritage Day at Rising Stars School. The event kicked off with a warm welcome from Dr. Jackson, the school director. Over 170 students from pre-K to 1st grade participated in the celebration.

Special guests included two Latin players from the Florence Y’Alls baseball team: Jonaiker Villalobos from Venezuela, who was named Pitcher of the Year (#20), and Zade Richardson from Puerto Rico, who was named Batter of the Year (#9). They attended the event along with some team staff, donating team merchandise and signing baseballs for the young students. The players also engaged in a lively Q&A session, answering questions from the enthusiastic audience.

Rising Stars School belong to Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS). We counted with the presence of Leyla Pena, CPS-English as Second Language coordinator , Saida Canel Family coordinator and, Tony Simms Cincinnati Commissioner and his wife Julieta. The event was a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about Hispanic culture and heritage, fostering a sense of community and appreciation for diversity.
